Sažetak
The years around 1900, Viennese cultural life found a strong echo in Zagreb, where Art Nouveau developed thanks to young artists carried along by spirit of the Sacred Spring. Many Croatian artists and architects came to Vienna to study, and cultural diversity of fin de siecle Vienna undoubtedly influenced the formation of Croatian - that is, Zagreb - Modernism. These artists responded with wholehearted enthusiasm to the Challenge of Modernism.
