Sažetak
Several meta-analytic studies reported small to moderate effect sizes for different career interventions. The effects varied due to the type of intervention, its’ duration, clients’ age and measured outcomes. This study is focused on evaluation of school career development program, organized in eight group sessions for middle school students (age 13 to 14). The program was adaptation of Exploring Future Options (Perry & Van Zandt, 2005) career development curriculum where students gain self-knowledge, explore career and educational options, and begin career planning. The program was conducted in nine schools including 181 students, with control group of 180 students. The quasi-experimental pre and post testing design was applied. The program effectiveness was measured by Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire (Gati, Krausz, & Osipow, 1996), Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale (Betz & Taylor, 2012) and Career Maturity Questionnaire (Babarović & Šverko, 2017). The observed effects were generally small, reflecting decline in lack of career information, and gain in some aspects of decision making self-efficacy and career maturity.
