Sažetak
Two clinical dextran samples, differently produced, were fractionated by the precipitation method at a constant temperature (25 ± 0.05)OC, with ethanol as precipitant. Two modifications of the precipitation method were applied. The isolated fractions were weighed, and the viscosity of their solutions and the weight-average molecular weight by the light scattering method were measured. The molecular weight distribution was presented as the integral and the differential weight distribution curve. The integral curve, presented in a linear form on the probability paper, was compared with the curves obtained for Swedish and native dextran, in order to establish that dextran has a log-normal distribution. Mark-Houwink relation of the clinical dextran PVTD is compared with the same relations for clinical dextrans produced in other countries.
