Sažetak
A comparison has been made between the non-linear seismic response of the regular reinforced concrete model buildings designed according to the Croatian (HRN) and Eurocode 8 codes. The only difference among the observed structures was due to design and detailing required according to two different codes. A MDOF member-by-member model of each structure was done and their nonlinear response to a given set of earthquakes was evaluated. Damage level remained similar for the structures designed to two different codes although the reinforcement amount increased in EC8 models. Structural displacements during earthquake depended more on the characteristics of earthquake and structural framing type than on the structural strength.
