Sažetak
Sedimentation coefficient so = 2.74 S, and diffusion coefficient Do = 4.47x10-7 cm2/sec were determined at 20° C, on a sample of commercial clinical dextran ("Zdravlje“, Leskovac) by means of the analytical ultracentrifuge. Using the Svedberg's equation, the mixed average molecular weight Ms, D was calculated from the values of S0, and D0 and was found to be 37, 500. The weight average molecular weight Mw was determined by means of the Trautman-Archibald's method of the approach to equilibrium and gave a value of 77, 400. This is in agreement with the value determined by the light scattering method which amounted to Mw = 68, 400.
