Sažetak
After the Second World War folk dance ensembles in the cities were established and developed a new way of public presentation of national traditions. The Croatian folk dance scene was divided between city ensembles performing stylized choreographies and peasant groups performing their native traditions. Since the breakdown of Yugoslavia the urban folk dance scene and its repertoire have been changed to a national repertoire but the style of presentation has mostly remained unchanged. Since the 1990s, inspired by nostalgia, folklore associations were founded in Zagreb by migrants from villages and refugees. In searching for their roots they started to present folk traditions from their old homeland.
