Sažetak
This paper is focused on improved antibacterial properties of pure cotton in the blends Bamboo/ Cotton and Silver/Cotton knitted fabrics. These fabrics are Interlock structures knitted on an electronic flat knitting machine (CMS 530 E 6.2.). Bamboo fibres is here targeted used as eco-friendly and sustainable fibre with good softness, absorption capacity, ability to release dampness and better antibacterial properties comparing with pure cotton. Silver is present in the fabric blends to compare with Bamboo fabric as silver shows strong biocidal effects on many pathogenic bacteria. These knitted fabrics were separately treated with the next antimicrobial compounds, azalide based compound and octenidine dihydrochloride by using Vibtoactiveted zeolite for improving finishing treatment
