Sažetak
Given the fact that more than 40 years have passed since the school was built, many things have changed since then regarding energy and construction standards and the needs of schools. The main emphasis of the project lies on the usage of CLT structures. Nowadays a lot of concrete is used in buildings in general due to its benefits and cost-effectiveness. The existing building is expanded by one floor (2 storeys), comprising an additional storey. The layout of the present schools is altered in such a way that the coffered ceilings are moved which brings about green zones. Green zones are the starting point of the development of the entire project – the different green zones throughout the entire school area bring in additional light compared to the present school building which is characterised by dark hallways and insufficient space for pupils’ social interaction.
