Sažetak
The idea for the renovation of “Jaegergrund Schule” in Graz begins with a desire to make maximum use of the existing structure and, at the same time, provide new and modern spaces for its students. The new school develops by adding wooden cubes to the existing structure. The negative spaces resulting from this addition are recognized as potential spaces of special ambiental meaning for the project and are used as meeting points of the outdoor and the indoor spaces. The school entrance which was on the south side is now located in the central area bringing as much daylight as possible to the classes. The main area is designed to make communication much easier and to ‘spread freely’ throughout the school. The new construction should bring in more daylight and provide a sense of nature while staying inside.
