Sažetak
The paper presents results of What-If analysis of quality improvement models applied in ship-building pro-jects. Established conventional quality management system in shipyard can provide a limited framework for process quality improvements. Extent and duration of such improvements depends on numerous factors with-in the process itself as well as on environmental factors. Shipyards can achieved their competitiveness by changing the business processes, introducing a new technologies and rising the level of automatization and robotization of their manufacturing processes. Furthermore, implementation of modern quality improvement methodologies requires implementation of systemic changes that includes definition of the vision and strategy, implementation area, responsibilities, ect. To research possible approaches to quality improvement in shipbuild-ing projects the What-If analysis has been performed on a basis of data collected from five consecutive ship- building projects. Three scenarios are developed and potential benefits and process improvements calculated. Based on developed scenarios, different quality improvement models have been proposed.
