Sažetak
PRGF-Endoret (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) is a biologic technology completely autologous used for many years in oral surgery and implantology. It allows a effective, safe and predictable management of soft and hard tissues during and after the surgical treatment. Aim of the lecture is to describe the biological basis and the clinical advantages of the PRGF’s use in dentistry by the evaluation of clinical cases, showing the improvement of the healing and regenerative processes and, above all, the reduction of the complications. In fact healing processes are the result of the balance between the anabolic and catabolic activities: PRGF moves this balance to the regenerative directions, thanks to the liberation of several growth factors released by the platelets. Moreover the use of autologous fibrin membranes, obtained by the same procedure, allows to a better healing of soft tissue, above all in case of bone grafts. PRGF is also a good system to seal the Schneiderian mucosa’s perforations during the sinus floor lift procedure, allowing to end the procedure even in case of complete damage of the mucosa.
