Sažetak
Next generation sequencing of total RNA samples from four autochthonous Croatian grapevine varieties revealed the presence of two novel virus-like sequences. Complete genome sequences for both novel viruses were reconstructed from de novo assembled contigs. One virus has genome of 7, 475 nucleotides excluding polyadenylate 3’ end, and was found in all four samples tested. It has five open reading frames (ORF) stereotypical of members of the genus Vitivirus. The second virus was found in two grapevine accessions. It has a genome of 7, 145 nucleotides and three ORFs with sequence similarity to other Badnaviruses. Both of these viruses represent new species based on current virus species demarcation criteria.
