Sažetak
Regarding protection of port and interest of the states into which the ships are sailing, and which might not satisfy the agreed standards, special inspections of ships are performed under the title Port State Inspection. The aim of this regime is ship inspection in order to identify the ship deficiencies and to remove the identified ones. The first part of the paper presents current legislative regarding ship inspections while the second part of the paper presents the analysis of the reviews of cargo ships which sail under the Croatian flag in different ports of the world. Based on the performed analysis the frequency of ships’ stay, technical proper functioning and parameters of the selection of the ship to be inspected have been evaluated.
