Sažetak
The extension of the area in which hazel bushes are cultivated from littoral to continental Croatia required a careful selection of planting positions, sorts resistant to low temperatures and forms of cultivation. In 1983 an experimental plantation was established in Orahovica (Croatia) on pseudogley soil, with the sorts Long Istrian, Romische Zellernuss and Hallesche Riesen, with a space of 5 x 4 m between plants. In the years 1989, 1990 and 1991 the time of flowering of the male and female inflorescence, the occurrence of extremely low temperatures during the flowering of hazel bushes and the yields of these sorts in the above mentioned years were investigated. Although in each of these three years there were low air temperatures during flowering, which, according to the data in the literature, should have caused the blossoms to freeze, thus reducing yield, in our research.
