Sažetak
In contemporary society content that is transmitted through the Internet is becoming an increasingly important source of information about the world we live in, and also influences the ways of experiencing its aspects. It has become common for visitors to search the Internet for information and images of the places they wish to visit, as well as to share via social media their impressions and photos during the visit. The aim of this paper is to describe the impression that visitors share about Croatian islands via popular travel- related UGC website – TripAdvisor. We focused on photos made and shared publicly by users on TripAdvisor. The analysis included 1000 photos taken by visitors on 10 largest Croatian islands: Cres, Krk, Hvar, Brač, Pag, Korčula, Dugi Otok, Mljet, Rab, and Vis. Most common motives on all visitors’ photos are food and drinks, island architecture, and beaches. Those are the main attributes that visitors identify with Croatian islands.
