Sažetak
The oil drilling systems based on rugged electrical drives require flexible yet robust controllers in order to build reliable control systems which can facilitate favorable drilling system behavior in terms of: 1. Drill-string torsional vibrations damping and prevention of drill-string drive uncontrolled back-spinning (back-lashing) motion, both characterized by high-magnitude drill-string torque and motor and tool speed variations, which are harmful to the tool and the drill-pipes ; 2. Maintaining the tool vs. rock pressure force (Weight-on-Bit, WoB) regardless of the tool vs. rock interface hardness, while also limiting the descending rate (Rate-of-Penetration, RoP) of the drill string by means of draw-works hoist speed control ; 3. Precise coordination of speed-controlled drilling fluid (mud) pump motors, in order to minimize the fluid pressure pulsations during simultaneous operation of two or more pumps. This report is intended to outline the basic control concepts for the above drilling electrical drive systems based on the earlier research in modeling and simulation model implementation of aforementioned drive systems.
