Sažetak
Meeting the diverse demands and challenges of today wireless industry requires new types of antennas where improvements in radiation properties and operating bandwidth can be obtained. This paper describes the work done to create wideband antennas for the PCN/PCS bands with omnidirectional radiation pattern in the azimuthal plane. The idea was to have a microstrip antenna printed on a circular cylindrical substrate and obtain an omnidirectional radiation pattern. In order to obtain good wideband matching as well as omnidirectional radiation pattern in azimuthal direction, the rigorous moment method program was developed and applied in conjunction with optimization procedure. The optimized antenna was built and its input impedance, gain and azimuthal radiation pattern were measured.
