Sažetak
This paper presents the results of corrosion investigation of copper and brass in H2O and 3.5 % NaCl solution (pH = 4.74 and T = 60 oC). Electrochemical investigations were performed by open circuit potential measurements and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. After polarization measurements, electrode surfaces were investigated by optical microscope and with SEM/EDS analysis. Investigation results showed that the corrosion rate at 60 °C for both copper and brass were higher in 3.5 % NaCl solutions in comparison to the water. Brass showed a higher corrosion rate in 3.5 % NaCl solution, i.e. the copper as more noble metal showed higher resistance to corrosion.
