Sažetak
Hearing loss caused by exposure to loud music is the leading cause of hearing loss in young people because they willingly expose their hearing system to such a stimulus, not perceiving it to be a threat to their health. With the primary goal of ascertaining the awareness level of young people on harmful effects of loud music, a survey has been conducted among the first-year students at the Faculty of Transport Sciences in Zagreb. Seventy undergraduate students, 51 males and 19 females from 19 to 24 years old participated in this study. The second goal was to get the information on the willingness of young people to stop visiting nightclubs and concerts, if educated by an expert about the harmful effects of overexposure to loud music. This paper reports the results of the described survey.
