Sažetak
Traffic infrastructure makes an integral part of the traffic and economic system of the Republic of Croatia. Along with the interactive activity of its subsystems it unifies the traffic and economic systems. This fact should help investors in order to base their investment on scientific research and synchronous activities of all the segments of the economy in the determined period of time. The paper deals with the process of optimisation referring to the development of traffic infrastructure within the Croatian traffic which is the main parameter of the harmonic functioning of the overall traffic and economic system of the Republic of Croatia. Therefore, this is a process of optimalisation whose main characteristic and task is the reaching of decisions which have to be based on market criteria along with the indisputable evaluation of economic and non-economic parameters in relation to the construction of traffic infrastructure.
