Sažetak
On the basis of the values of forces measured during towing of a planing craft model in the propeller shaft direction, the pressure resistance coefficient for the model is calculated and the assumption is taken that it is also valid for the prototype. The model friction resistance coefficient is corrected with respect to the quotient of friction resistance coefficient for the flat plate at ship's Reynolds number, and the same coefficient at model's Reynolds number. The estimation of the reliability of the proposed method as well as of the conventional Froude's method of resistance conversion of results from the model to the ship is made. The proposed method proves to be less susceptible to measurement errors than the Froude's method.
