Sažetak
The frequently discussed question on the relation between the resistance of a blocked and a free-rotating propeller is considered. It is important to know this in order to take the necessary steps during ship towing or twin-screw ship sailing to keep the resistance as low as possible. The published results of the hydrodynamic characteristics of screw propeller series tested in four quadrants are used in the paper. The obtained results show that the relation between the resistance of a blocked and a free-rotating propeller depends considerably on the type of propulsion plant.
