Sažetak
The development of the information society includes all aspects of life in modern society and all types of activities. In the field of development of information technology, the environment of modern technologies, globalization processes play a very important role as well as impact of global media. At the same time, sustainable cultural development is both: a goal and a mean of this development as well as the measure of its success. In this paper, a survey and critique of convergence of technological technological innovation, global media, culture and economics are presented by using the existing concepts of information society. The concept of „information“ value in “contemporary information society” and „information economy“ will be introduced as well. The main components of the information society concept are analyzed, i.e., information, information technologies and data privacy . Changes are considered in the mains spheres of human acitivities. The author will present the characteristics and processes of the information society in cultural, economic, social and technological dimensions of information society ; information and communications technologies as an agent of change in information provision and their use as well as their convergence. The paper will also include the overview of development of global media and their role in information society, characteristics of information workflow and the role of the data in information society. The subsegment willl also be given to legal issues which subsequently undergo changes in the field of right to acces information, data collectioan and especially on presence of information in media with emphasis on other connected contemporary challenges and issues in modern information society.
