Sažetak
The present study is based on an incorporation of computer simulation and real pedigree analyses study. The first two chapters detail computer simulations. The third chapter is a description of a software program for calculation of several inbreeding coefficients by gene dropping approach. The fourth chapter describes analyses related to real pedigree data of three lines of laboratory mice. Four main objectives are highlighted in this study with regard to the role of ancestral inbreeding in purging of inbreeding depression. The first objective of this study was to evaluate the validity Ballou`s ancestral inbreeding formula. The second objective of this study was to apply the ancestral inbreeding coefficient as a selection criterion to eliminate the deleterious alleles from animal populations. The main goal of conservation breeding programs for animal is to maintain the genetic diversity in order to ensure that the population will be able to adapt to new unpredictable environments in the future.The third objective was to provide a computer program to calculate inbreeding coefficient, partial inbreeding coefficient. The fourth objective of the study was to assess the effects of partial ancestral inbreeding coefficient on purging of inbreeding depression due to different founders in real pedigree data of mice.
