Sažetak
Karst poljes occupy small portion of total Dinarides surface (ca. 5%) and they represent fluvial “islands in the sea” of water-permeable massifs and plateaus, which are extremely important for mycobiota of Dinaric Alps. Thanks to the geographic position and climatic characteristics of the Dinarides and their wide front faced along the border of Mediterranean and continental area, karst poljes are positioned in numerous bioclimatic zones, from thermo-Mediterranean to altimontane zone. They occur in a very wide gradient of ecological entities due to their specific hydrology and microclimatic conditions in which exist large number of highly mosaic habitats important for fungi. Forest stands of high phyto-diversity are of high significance for hundreds of ectomycorrhizal fungal species, especially those from the orders Agaricales, Boletales and Pezizales. The old osier grooves, oak and black alder stands are not only important for specialised ectomycorrhizal fungi but also for saprotrophs of coarse woody debris – “aphyllophoralean” fungi and fungi from the orders Agaricales, Pezizales, Xylariales and Boliniales. Wetland habitats are particularly important for hundreds of ascomycetous species which are saprotrophs of wetland herbaceous plants, as well as water bodies which are exclusive habitats for numerous freshwater fungi from the phylum Ascomycota and phylogenetically older groups (Chytridiomycota and Blastocladiomycota). Karst poljes are characterised also by grasslands created by traditional and longlasting cattle breeding which are important to grassland fungi from the genera Hygrocybe, Clavaria, Entoloma and Dermoloma, family Geoglossaceae, but also to numerous species of fimicolous fungi from the phyla Ascomycota, Basidiomycota and Mucoromycota. During research of Ascomycota performed by the authors on two occasions (12.06.2016 and 26.-31.08.2017) on Livanjsko polje, Duvanjsko polje, Šujičko polje and Dugo polje 40 samples were collected and 35 species recorded. Out of the the currently identified collections, two species are reported as new to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s mycobiota, while eight (or 23%) are considered rare and/or endangered. The ecological value and habitat quality of the explored localities regarding fungi are analysed and the need for further research and necessity for efficient conservation of particular areas are identified.
