By its natural virtue, the reasoning of even the most primitive humans understood exceptional relief formations as visible proof of the existence of the world beyond this visible one. The ancient narratives about creation may indeed be read as inspired records of the actual natural facts. The architectural limits of the SUBLIME may be extended from the single object in its immediate physical context beyond the immanent limits of the sight. A particular perspective is required for this mental exercise: the detached VIEW FROM ABOVE, essential for the sublime experience of natural and artificial things and specific to the object of our contemplation here: the DESERT.
