Sažetak
Clinical trials are scientific and medical tests carried out on healthy or diseased subjects who voluntarily consented to participate. Their purpose is to discover or verify the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of the drug ; detection of adverse drug reactions ; detecting drug interactions ; testing the safety profile of the drug as well as its efficiency. Clinical trials are important and indespensable part of the progress of modern medicine and health care. They are the base of evidence-based medicine. Results of clinical trials are used for drug registration in different countries of the world and for scientific purposes in order to improve the guidelines for the treatment of diseases. Because of these reasons it is important that the oncology pharmacist knows the results of clinical studies to well interpret and implement in daily work.
