Sažetak
Maritime connection of mainland and islands and inter-insular connections in Croatia are not at a satisfactory level, which directly reflects the economic development and life of people living on the island. An analysis of the present connections of mainland and islands and between islands was carried out to find an appropriate solution of efficient maritime connections and a model for rational and efficient connecting was established. The following hypothesis was proposed in this paper: It is possible to define the size and the type of a vessel that will be in function of connecting the mainland and islands and islands with each other by having relevant knowledge of connections between mainland and island and inter-insular connections. The appropriate size and type of vessel has been chosen by using the methodology of MCA and the model to connect mainland and islands has been proposed.
