Sažetak
For agricultural production environments- climate has a very significant impact. A direct impact on crop production causes a reduction or complete loss of yield in long-term drought or flood periods and changes in chemical composition of plant material. Beside of direct impact on crop production weather conditions have an indirect impact on animal production through the quality of consumed feed materials. Extreme weather (droughts and floods) affects the growth of plants in such conditions and change their nutritional value and utilization. The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of climate change on the production and composition of goat milk as a result of changes in the nutritional value of feeds in Northwest of Croatia. We investigate goat population in two the most populated Counties in the Northwest of Croatia. During the period of three years we monitored the production and composition of milk of more than 2000 goats in two counties. Beside the parameters of milk production during the investigated years there was analyzed chemical composition of consumed feeding materials. In the years 2012 to 2014 there have been significant changes (P<0.05) in the chemical composition of goat’s milk reduction of fat, proteins and total milk solids. That can be caused by qualitative changes of feeds and as the effect of rising total goat’s milk production. Furthermore changes in chemical composition of feed materials that goats ate are not affected in the proportions as we expected for milk production and composition. It can be conclude that most farmers kept goats in appropriate conditions with adapted meals to new requirements.
