Sažetak
The study gives insight into the acquisition of English articles by Croatian EFL learners. Study aims at investigating the differences between different sub-samples’ performance with regard to learners’ academic level and school context, and discovering the causes accountable for those differences. Given that not much research has yet been done on this topic, the study attempts to fill in that gap and provide basic information. As English article system presents one of the hardest grammatical structures for Croatian EFL learners to acquire, it is essential to look into the differences in students’ article performance and adapt the teaching methods in order to make progress in the acquisition of English articles and English in general.
