Sažetak
In this paper, we discuss uncertainty modeling for a spatially invariant damped mechanical system. To be more specific, we consider a mechanical system comprised of a finite number of identical subsystem instances, where each instance is essentially an infinite dimensional mechanical system, i.e. a continuous vibration system. Then, for a single subsystem instance, a series of successively finer spatial discretized models is constructed, as well as an uncertainty model describing a discretization error. Furthermore, by taking into the account the fact that each subsystem is interacting with identical neighboring subsystems, we are able to further refine its uncertainty model and reduce conservatism.
