Sažetak
Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most prevalent dementia, known since the beginning of the 20th century, women being more aff ected with it. Here we describe the pathophysiology and clinical picture of the disease and give an overview of the current therapeutic options. Th ere are only four drugs, divided in two classes, registered for the therapy of Alzheimer’s disease. Non of the existing drugs are able to stop the progression of the disesase, so we also take a look into the future with hope that the effi cient drug to cure Alzheimer’s disease will soon see the light of the day.
