Sažetak
This paper presents the results of the steel X155CrVMo12-1 which its application has in the making of tools. In the experimental part of the paper on the selected tool for making nails were conducted laboratory examinations to determine the causes that led to premature damage of work surfaces. By analyzing metallographic images it was noticed intergranular progression of cracks, mainly with the carbides which are mostly arranged in clusters. To avoid this occurrence, as well as the danger of bainite secretion in the interior of the grain it is necessary to extinguish get done in a medium that allows the heat release by the appropriate speed. Conclusion was that the activity of impact loads causes tear-off of a local parts of work surfaces of the tools.
