Sažetak
The topic of the final work relates to the analysis of the technical structure of transport equipment in public road freight traffic according to available data in order to determine the existing state of transport in public freight transport by age in the Republic of Croatia. The traffic system is characterized by spatial and temporal dimensions, and it is objectively present and can be defined for each geographic area at any time. Road transport vehicles are motor vehicles and trailer vehicles (trailers and semi-trailers) which perform transport in passenger or freight traffic. In the structure of the road freight fleet, the average age was established: a) for motor vehicles of 57.6% for vehicles older than 10 years ; b) for trailer vehicles of 66.3%. By analyzing the structure of the fleet in the period 1997- 2005, the largest representation of car engine cargoes was established from 1997 to 2008 with an average share of 82.5%, and for vehicles in the period from 2005 to 2009 with an average share of 22.3%.. The traffic potential of the Republic of Croatia has not been used to the extent of attracting international traffic flows and optimized use of natural resources, and the obsolescence of the car fleet of cargo motor and motor vehicles of the Republic of Croatia can be observed.
