Sažetak
Communication is a key factor in students’ learning in higher education. Nonverbal and verbal immediacy communication is positively associated with the students’ perception of effective teaching. This study attempts to extend the work on perceptions of professors’ communication by investigating perceptions among students from Slovenia, Croatia and Albania, which have not yet been studied previously in relation to verbal and nonverbal immediacy communication. The aim is to identify similarities and differences in students’ perceptions of how much the agricultural professors from these countries use verbal and nonverbal immediacy communication. An online survey was conducted with students of agriculture faculties participating in the LifeADA project from Slovenia, Croatia, and Albania. The result reveals subtle cultural differences in the share of professors of agriculture in Slovenia, Croatia and Albania, who are perceived to use nonverbal and verbal immediacy behaviours. Compared to Croatian and Slovenian students, Albanian students perceive that almost all of their professors use nonverbal immediacy communication and less verbal immediacy communication.
