Sažetak
This research demonstrates the possibility of using geostatistic to monitor the dispersal of mosquitoes for mosquito control program at the municipal level. Sampling was conducted from May to September every other day in 2011, in the area of the town Osijek, Croatia. Human landing method was used for capturing mosquitoes. Sampling grid consists of 16 capture points, distributed in the area of 30 km2 with distances between traps of 1.5 km in urban area. Spatio-temporal analysis was made using Gaussian covariance kriging analysis. More than 10, 000 mosquitoes were caught and 16 species were determined. The most numerous species were Aedes vexans, Culex pipiens, Ochlerotatus sticticus and Ochlerotatus caspius. Model of distribution shows some area north of Osijek as point of spreading of floodwater mosquitoes (Ae. vexans and Oc. sticticus) and both south and north points as center of distribution for Cx. pipiens. Isorithme of mosquito activity can be used as trigger to organization of mosquito control.
