Sažetak
Monitoring of mosquitoes have been done in the town of Slavonski Brod which is situated on the left side of the river Sava in the east part of Croatia. Because of hydrological conditions in the area there is huge mosquito problem. In the town of Slavonski Brod adult mosquitoes have been researched from May to August 2001. Sampling of the mosquitoes have been made with both CDC traps with CO2 as attractant and method of human with aspirator in 15 minutes. The CDC traps worked out on four localities in the area Slavonski Brod two times per month. Total of 7482 mosquitoes collected with CDC traps. Determinations show presence of 11 species of mosquitoes and dominations of Ochlerotatus sticticus and Aedes vexans. The number of mosquitoes increased from end of May to July when biggest number of mosquitoes recorded (4363). In one CDC trap a maximal number of 2113 mosquitoes werw noted on the beginning of July and a minimal number of 9 mosquitoes werw noted in the end of May. On 9 localities in teh area of Slavonski Brod, activity of mosquitoes were measured on 15 minutes in the time of their biggest activity in a time of sunset. Total number of collected mosquitoes was 573, and we found presence of 6 species of mosquitoes. Dominant species were Oc. sticticus and Ae. vexans. During the season in the area of Slavonski Brod a maximal value of mosquito activity were on the beginning of July when 56 mosquitoeshave been caught in 15 minutes.
