Sažetak
The preservation of Latin in the KIngdom of Hungary did not necessarily mean "backwardness" or a rupture with the mainstream of Enlightenment thinking. The Hungarian code of education entitled "Ratio educationis" of 1777 reflected the endeavor to create good and useful citizens and to provide education for the whole nation in accordance with the pupil's social status.
