Sažetak
Uncomplicated fracture of mesial and incisal part of the crown occurred in 1994. Patient reported 6 previous unsuccessful treatments because of inadequate retention of composite restorations. Tooth was asymptomatic, with no evidence of dental caries and responded positively to vitality test. Radiographic examination revealed no signs of pathology. Occlusal examination revealed mild primary crowding resulting in palatally positioned fractured tooth in relation to the dental arch. Occlusal interferences were observed in CO. Protrusion was guided by the palatal surface of fractured tooth. Patient was informed of treatment options and elected a direct bonded composite restoration (Tetric EvoCeram, Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein). Occlusion was adjusted and protrusion is guided by the distal part of the palatal surface of fractured tooth and by other incisors. A direct restorative approach with free-hand bonding technique was performed. Labial surface was redesigned with additional composite layers until labial surface of fractured incisor was in relation to the labial surface of the other central incisor. Occlusal adjustment assured the retention of composite. Additional composite layers on labial surface and adequate colour selection, as well as free-hand bonding technique assured satisfactory esthetic results. Reconstruction of fractured central incisor with composite restoration revealed as relatively quick, simple and economical solution that complies esthetical and functional demands.
