Sažetak
Diffraction and distributed nature of quarter- wave mirrors play a central role in forming transverse-modes of gain-apertured vertical- cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). This paper reviews an integral-equation approach to determining the modes and associated propagation constants in such resonators.
