Sažetak
The main goal of this ethnographic study was exploring the full range of the phenomenon of street performance and grasping the internal viewpoint of the social group that has selected the street as a stage, with the help of three theoretical principles that directed the different phases of the study-human ecology, symbolic interactionism, and phenomenology. The methods we used during fieldwork were the semi- structured interview, participant observation, and visual ethnography. Our ethnographic study of street performance in the city of Split tried to provide insight into this unique segment of street art as it is seen by its creators and performers. Long-term fieldwork resulted in a deeper and better understanding of the processes and phenomena related to street performance and secured a wealth of data that will be useful in explaining similar urban phenomena.
