Sažetak
The chapter presents the results of an analysis of the sociolinguistic profiles, the language use and language attitudes of Croatian-speakers in Lower Saxony, Germany, and discusses some typical features of the speech of the emigrants in this diaspora situation and of the respective language contact phenomena between Croatian and German. The informants were mainly members of generation 1 and generation 2 of Croatian emigrants in Germany, while a few of them also belong to generation 3. The empirical data consists of information gathered by means of a questionnaire study and through individual interviews on the sociolinguistic profiles of informants and of recorded informants’ speech during their participation in a focus group when speaking Croatian.
