Sažetak
This paper deals with the application of controlled switching technique for limitation of switching overvoltages (SOVs) and transient currents on the 400 kV transmission line with capacitive voltage transformers installed at both ends. Switching off unloaded transmission line and line reclosing was analysed by using EMTP-RV software. The simulation results show that the controlled switching significantly reduces SOVs, current transients and energy stress of station surge arresters.
