Sažetak
The paper presents the problem of entropy generation minimization for the model of steady-state heat conduction through a plane wall with a heat source and pre-determined isothermal boundary conditions. The problem is solved by introducing relevant non-dimensional variables: non-dimensional heat source, non- dimensional wall thickness and non-dimensional ratio of boundary thermodynamic temperatures. Analytical expressions for the temperature field, the temperature gradient and local entropy generation are derived by means of the aforementioned variables. An expression for total entropy generation, which is solved numerically, is also given. It is shown that the total entropy generation minimization is achieved for combinations of and . Analysis results are presented and explained in the appropriate diagrams with non-dimensional coordinates.
