Sažetak
The subject of the paper is a comparative analysis of plate and grid electrode characteristic as an integral part of grounding system. Analysis was performed in term of resistances and potential distribution above the ground for both ground electrodes with the same dimensions and placed at the same depth. This research was carried out for vertically and horizontally installed electrodes. In order to compare these types of electrodes, the Finite Element Method, Method of Moments and Equivalent Electrodes Method have been used. The analysis has been done for different values of electrical resistivity of the surrounding soil. Potential distribution and resistances for both grounding electrodes are determined. Obtained results are compared with results of simulation. Also the inverse problem of determining geometry parameters for the grid electrode having the same resistance as the plate electrode of known geometry parameters has been formulated.
