It is always needed to ensure appropriate samples are taken and submitted with the relevant epidemiologic data, to diagnose an infectiouse disease, such as highly pathogenic avian influenza. During the process preserving the safety and health of the people involved and preventing (or minimizing) environmental contamination/spread of virus is crucial. Therefore, procedures in regards to sampling and data collection are described within this booklet that include work under different conditions worldwide.
