Sažetak
There is a certain number of radioactively contaminated sites in the Republic of Croatia, one of them being known
as Power Plant Plomin site, which contains radioactive slag and ash. Due to a relatively high quantity of the deposited material,
as well as a relatively high population density of the neighboring area, it is very important to assess the impact of the site on
human health and environment.
Using RESRAD computer code and PATHRAE method we have performed a preliminary assessment of doses and radiation
risks for the workers who spend most of their working day at the pile. PATHRAE method has also been used for the
assessment of radiation risk for the neighboring population. The assessment is preliminary in its character due to the lack
of incoming data. On the basis of assessment results, recommendations are being given comprising measurements to be taken
with a view to coming up with the final risk assessment, as well as protective measures which should be undertaken in the meantime.
