Sažetak
Among many pollutant sources that affect and have an influence on the air quality, motor vehicles represent a significant contribution. Emissions from transport sector where road vehicles represent largest part continuously increases. During this research, the concentration of the main traffic – related air pollutants and traffic patterns in Zagreb are analysed in detail over a one - year period. Directive 2008/50/EC, on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe, and basic concepts of air pollution are briefly described in this paper. A specialized application has been developed with the aim of collecting pollutant data from six air quality measuring stations located in Zagreb. Through processing air quality data and traffic patterns, specific patterns of emission values have been identified which can be easily correlated with traffic profiles.
