Sažetak
Hereditary palmoplantar keratodermas (HPPK) are rare and epidemiologic data are sporadic and inconsistent. From 1989 to 1991 an epidemiologic population study was carried out in Croatia (population 4, 7 million inhabitants). The HPPK, Unna-Thost type was the most frequent: its prevalence was 4, 35 per 100, 000 ; HPPK, type papulosa was less frequent: 1, 17 per 100.000 and in HPPK. type Jadassohn-Lewandowsky (pachyonychia congenita), the prevalence of 0.53 per 100, 000 was found. Other types of HPPK were observed sporadically. The diagnostic criteria for including patients in the study were clinical features, family history and histopathologic findings. The type of palmoplantar lesions, the associated features and the treatment options are discussed. The best therapeutic response was achieved with etretinate {;Tigason®, Roche) in initial dosis of 0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg daily
