Sažetak
The intentional mechanical perforation of the base of pulp chamber and the lasing of the exposed periodontal tissue was performed on molars of two 25-kg mixed-breed dogs during laser pulpotomy procedure under anesthesiawith sodium pentobatbital. After rubber dam was placed, the pulp chamber floor was intentionaly penetrated with low-speed stee bur. The wound was rinsed with 0, 9% saline . The exposed periodontal tissue in the furcations of the teeth on the right side of both jaws were irradiated with CO2 laser (2W/5x10 ms/s) for 3s. The exposed tissue of the teeth on the left side of both jaws were lased with Nd:YAG laser (2W/20pps) for 3 s. After treatment, the furcation opening was covered with polycarboxilate cement. Observation was made 30 and 45 days after treatment. The changes were verified histologically. Mild bleeding and initialaosteolysis with destruction of corticale bone were seen. Stronger destruction with fragmentation of bone lamellae and inflamation with osteclast activity also appeared. Cemental reaction to laser irradiation was sporadic resoption with inflammation. The histological response was similar for both lasers. It can be concluded that periodontal wounds treated with these lasers did not show sings of healing after 45 days.
